RULES OF PLAY

  • Texas Hold'Em Poker is a variation of poker which utilizes five common/community cards in conjunction with each player's own two cards.
  • There are four betting rounds with a maximum of three raises allowed in each round.
  • A minimum of two players and a maximum of eleven players may participate at each Texas Hold'Em table.
  • Texas Hold'Em Poker shall be played to determine a winning high hand only.
  • The cards are shuffled, cut and dealt by the house Dealer, who shall not take part in the play of the game.
  • The order in which the cards shall be dealt and the order in which players shall be required or have the option to bet shall be determined as followed; a flat disc called "the button" shall be used to indicate an imaginary Dealer (sometime called Dealer button/puck), this "button" shall be placed with the player to the right of the house Dealer, at the commencement of a new game and then shall rotate around the table in a clockwise manner with each round of play.
  • The player to the immediate left of the button shall be required to initiate the first betting round by posting the small blind bet. The player to the left of the small blind shall place the big blind bet in accordance with the posted table requirements.
  • The Dealer shall deal two cards face down, one at a time, starting with the small blind and will continue to deal in a clockwise direction until all eligible players have received two cards (Note-the House Dealer will not receive any cards).
  • The first betting round begins with the player to the left of the big blind and ends with the big blind. Each player including the players that posted the blind bets shall have the option to fold, call or raise the bet.
  • The Dealer shall then burn the top card of the deck and proceed to deal three community cards, from the deck (known as "the flop"), and turn them face upward in the centre of the table unimpaired.
  • The subsequent betting round shall resume with the option to bet or check, reverting to the first active player clockwise from the button. Players may fold, call, raise, make an opening bet or check if the preceding players have not made a bet. The betting round shall be considered complete when each player has either folded or called in response to the most recent bet.
  • At the completion of the second betting round, the Dealer shall again burn the top card of the deck and deal an additional card face up (known as the fourth street) to the community cards already dealt.
  • The next betting round shall commence following the same rules as above.
  • When the third round of betting is complete, the Dealer shall burn the top card of the deck and deal a fifth and final card face-up (called "fifth street" or "the river") to the community cards already dealt. A fourth and final betting round begins with the first active player to the left of the button.
  • If after all bets are acted upon more than one player remains, a showdown shall determine who shall be awarded the pot.
  • If the remaining players use only the five community cards to form the best five-card hand (their own hands do not contribute to the high hand), all players still active in the hand shall share the pot equally.
  • If there is at least one caller (i.e. two persons left in the game), all the players must show their two hole cards upon request of any player.
  • New players must post a big blind when entering a game unless they have come from a broken table of the same stakes or it is a new game and the puck has not pas-sed their seat. All new players have the option to raise on the first round of betting.
  • No one misses their blinds. If one blind is missed, it must be posted upon return to the game. If both blinds are missed, the big blind must be posted and the small blind surrendered to the pot.
  • If a player misses the blind two consecutive rounds, the Casino will ask the player to forfeit their place and go to the bottom of the waiting list.
  • If the small blind is gone, a new player may take the seat but must post a big blind.
  • The house takes a rake of 5%, up to a limit that is displayed on each table.
